Runner-up: 2014 Golden Triangle Haiku Contest, Embassy of Japan, Washington D.C.
In December, the JICC hosted a haiku contest in conjuction with the Golden Triangle BID. 400 haiku were submitted and reviewed by an expert panel of judges from the JICC, including Abigail Friedman, author of I Wait for the Moon and The Haiku Apprentice, and Roberta Beary, author of The Unworn Necklace and Deflection. Winning poems are now displayed under trees along the sidewalks of the Golden Triangle neighborhood.
